WA Construction Migration Initiatives

Western Australia’s strong economic growth, low unemployment rates and high demand for skilled workers in the building and construction sector is a priority for the State Government.

On 10 July 2023, the Department of Training and Workforce Development launched the Construction Migration Office (CMO), a free service providing end-to-end support for WA building and construction sector employers looking to recruit skilled migrants, and for migrants seeking to move to WA to work in the sector.

The new Construction Visa Subsidy Program (CVSP) is supporting Western Australian construction businesses to fill the demand for a skilled workforce.

The program will provide grant payments of up to $10,000 to support skilled migration visa pathways for workers and help offset expenses such as migration agent fees, visa application fees and relocation costs.

The CMO will also connect you to existing initiatives aimed at growing our skilled workforce including:

o          Construction Visa Subsidy Program (CVSP);

o          Skilled Migrant Employment Register (SMER);

o          Skilled Migration Job Connect (SMJC); and

o          State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP).

Navigating a new process can be tricky, but the Construction Migration Office is here to help.
